Designing a Mobile App MVP
Halo Ambulance is a real-time emergency response feature designed to simplify ambulance dispatch and tracking through an intuitive app interface. It allows users to request an ambulance based on the nearest health facility and available units from non-profits or service providers, with real-time tracking similar to ride-hailing apps for faster, more transparent assistance. Developed as a UI/UX design assignment during a bootcamp at Purwadhika Digital Technology School, the project aimed to address real-world challenges by enhancing access to emergency medical transport—particularly in critical situations where speed and clarity are essential.

🧩 THE CHALLENGE Accessing ambulance services in emergency situations is often slow, unclear, and uncoordinated—especially in areas where centralized dispatch systems are lacking. Users don’t always know which services are nearby, how many ambulances are available, or how long it will take for help to arrive. My challenge was to design a solution that: • Simplifies the process of requesting an ambulance • Shows users the availability and proximity of ambulances • Provides real-time tracking to reduce uncertainty and anxiety • Works in collaboration with both non-profit and private service providers

🎓 WHAT I LEARNED This project allowed me to take full ownership of the end-to-end design process while working independently under mentor guidance. I used Figma to create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity screens, and interactive prototypes—focusing on designing a clear and responsive interface for time-sensitive emergency situations. Through user interviews via Zoom and usability testing with Maze, I learned how to validate design decisions and identify pain points, even in a conceptual project. I also gained a deeper understanding of designing for trust, accessibility, and clarity—especially in high-stress contexts like healthcare. Most importantly, this project taught me how to think beyond aesthetics and focus on delivering real, user-centered value through thoughtful interaction and experience design.
