Traveloka Eats Delivery is a food-ordering feature within the Traveloka superapp that allows users to order meals from local restaurants with ease. It offers real-time tracking, various payment options, and personalized recommendations based on user preferences and location. Developed as a UI/UX bootcamp project at Purwadhika, the redesign aimed to enhance the overall user experience by addressing practical use cases. As Traveloka expanded its focus beyond travel to meet daily lifestyle needs—especially during the rise of online food delivery amid the pandemic—Eats Delivery was introduced to provide a fast, reliable, and integrated dining solution within the app’s growing ecosystem.

🧩 THE CHALLENGE The main challenge was redesigning an existing food delivery feature within Traveloka’s already feature-rich superapp—enhancing the experience without disrupting usability or performance. I had to navigate a complex mix of user expectations, business objectives, and design constraints, all while working within the context of an established product. Key hurdles included improving the integration with existing systems, optimizing the experience for local F&B partners, and addressing user expectations shaped by competitors like GoFood and GrabFood. Ensuring the redesigned flow remained consistent with Traveloka’s design language was essential to maintain familiarity and reduce friction for existing users.

Each feature was aimed at solving a specific user pain point. • Smart Recommendations Personalized food suggestions based on location, time of day, and past orders. • In-App Promotions Dynamic banners and promo engines to increase order value and retention. • Seamless Checkout Multiple payment options including Traveloka PayLater, credits, and vouchers. • Live Delivery Tracking Real-time map view to track rider location and estimated arrival time.
